In an essay, the topic or thesis statement drives the essay. FCC's thesis statement runs something like this: "Being on the receiving end of God's generous love, First Covenant seeks to:
1) be faithful to God;
2) be highly caring in relation to each other, our community and the world;
3) reflect the diversity of heaven."
Now that is a compelling statement. So this week, Connection Groups are living into the great message delivered on Sunday through Pastor Marco. Check it out on video here. Yes, those hairs on top of Marco's head stand wonderfully at attention on video just as they do in real life.
High school students, led by a phenomenal team, are heading this week to Mission Springs to meet God and get that much better linked to each other.
Stephen ministers are ministering, tutors are tutoring, married folks are reflecting on Saturday's fantastic seminar led by Doug and Nancy Stevens, the CYAC (Come AS You Are Choir) is getting ready to sing (show up at the sanctuary this Sunday at 8 a.m. and you're in!) and people, empowered by God's Spirit, are making a redemptive difference throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
So the big story . . . God is being honored - young and old are moving in His purposes. That's a story worth living.
